Every network interface, one click away

Network Status Menu lives in your menu bar and shows what ifconfig knows about each interface, with live bandwidth graphs and traffic statistics, without opening Terminal.

Download for macOS Mac App Store

Requires macOS 14 Sonoma or later. The download is signed and notarized by Apple and updates itself; the App Store version updates through the App Store.

What it shows

All interfaces

Wi-Fi, Ethernet, Thunderbolt, VPN tunnels, bridges and more, in the same order as ifconfig, with inactive ones a toggle away.

Flags and details

UP, RUNNING, SMART, MULTICAST and the rest at a glance, plus MTU, media, options and ND6 options when you want them.

Addresses

IPv4 with netmask, IPv6 with prefix, scope and flags such as temporary or secured, and the hardware address. Click any address to copy it.

Bandwidth

Live up/down graphs and rates, plus average, minimum and maximum over any periods you add, such as the last minute, hour or day.

Pinned interfaces

Pin the interfaces you care about to the top and order them by drag or with ⌘↑ and ⌘↓.

Menu bar rates

Show current upload and download speed, or a small graph, right in the menu bar.

Wi-Fi and public IP

Signal, noise, channel and PHY mode for Wi-Fi, and your public IPv4 and IPv6 addresses from a service you pick.

Notifications

Optional alerts when an interface connects or disconnects, an address changes, or the primary interface switches.

Make active or inactive

With the optional admin helper, turn network services on and off from the menu, like System Settings does.
